The Office actress Lucy Davis has raised thousands of pounds for sick kids after urging guests to donate cash rather than give gifts at her wedding.

Lucy, saved by a kidney transplant nine years ago, married Troy actor Owain Yeoman at St Paul’s Cathedral on Saturday.

They set up a website page where well-wishers could donate to both the Kids Kidney Appeal and cancer charity Tenovus.

Last night, total donations stood at £6,442. The page will remain open until next February 28.

Lucy, 32 — daughter of multi-millionaire comic Jasper Carrott, 61 — was saved when mum Hazel donated a kidney for her life-saving op in 1997.

She went on to find fame as receptionist Dawn in BBC sitcom The Office.

In a personal message on the website justgiving.com Lucy and Owain, also 32, said: “Thanks to everyone who is donating to our charity. It means so much to us both.”
