Lucy Davis, star of the tv hit show The Office and daughter of well known comedian Jasper Carrot, ties the knot to Welsh actor Owain Yeoman in a location normally reserved for royalty, but because her father Jasper Carrot has an OBE, the red carpet was rolled out in true style.

St. Paul’s Cathedral was chosen as the venue for the 32 year old actress marriage and as the bride arrived in a sleeveless traditional white dress and veil, the glam blonde got to the cathedral on time in the back of a black Hackney cab.

IT WAS a day that would have broken hapless Tim’s heart in Ricky Gervais’ hit comedy The Office but Lucy Davis, who played downtrodden receptionist Dawn Tinsley in the BBC2 show, finally got her man yesterday as she wed her Welsh fiancé in style.

Lucy, who lives with Chepstow-born Owain in Los Angeles, hailed a taxi to show the world how much she loves London.

And after the 50-minute service, Lucy’s funnyman dad – who recently sold his rights in hit quiz show Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? for more than £10m – told how the ceremony incorporated Owain’s roots, including the Welsh version of Guide Me O Thou Great Redeemer.

He said: “There is nobody in South Wales today, they’re all here and in fine voice.”

Of his father-of-the-bride speech, he said: “I’ll rehash something from 1978, there’s nobody here old enough to remember it.”

Carrott added he was very pleased his new son-in-law – who starred alongside Brad Pitt in the movie Troy – had asked him for permission to marry his daughter.

He said: “I’m very fond of Wales, everyone should have a little bit of Welsh in their heart. He did come and ask me about getting married.

“When you have a six foot four gladiator from Troy who’s knocked seven bells out of Brad Pitt you don’t say no to him.”

Among around 300 guests who turned up to the ceremony in red double-decker buses were Lucy’s former Office co-stars, Mackenzie Crook, who played Gareth, and Martin Freeman, who played Dawn’s love interest, Tim, in the show.

Former EastEnders star Joel Beckett, who played Dawn’s intended Lee, laughed: “I’m very sad, it’s a sad day, I can’t believe it, I’m gutted!”

Lucy got engaged to Owain in June this year after meeting in Hollywood while looking for work. The 32-year-old Welsh classically trained actor graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (Rada) in London.

As well as appearing on film, he has appeared in the US TV shows The Nine and Kitchen Confidential. Owain and Lucy say they are now keen to start a family.
